I am happy to report that we have come up with a solution to the market’s low inventory issue! Yes, we know how to find a home for every buyer who needs to buy, making sellers happy too!  Just one thing: We need to meet Dan. Dan recently relocated to Minnesota. He is renting a fabulous condo near downtown Minneapolis. He can walk to just about everything. His commute is a breeze. But Dan would like to find a home on an acre so that he can settle in and finally get a puppy or two.  Once he moves, the condo owner will sell her investment. Introduce Steve and Sally who have a home on an acre that would be perfect for Dan. But they are looking for a home to buy first. Their dream would be a home on at least 5 acres. Better yet, a home that needs work so they can make it their own. Mary and her siblings have finally agreed to start clearing out their childhood home but are overwhelmed with the updates it needs. Once the family sells, Mary will have her down-payment for a lake home in the West metro. Tina and Josh just finished the final touches on their Lake Minnewashta home. They have wanted to move to Lake Minnetonka to a home that better suits their family and how they like to entertain.  Margaret and Charles have decided that they have loved the lakeside fun all these years but their lifestyle has changed. They find they are constantly going downtown for shows and dinners with friends. They would love to find a condo within walking distance of all they enjoy.   They think they have found the perfect condo, but first the current renter (Dan) needs to move. Understand why we need to meet Dan?

Dan does not have a home to sell before he can move which makes him a great first step in this domino of purchases and sales. If Steve and Sally knew Mary was selling, they could offer to buy her home in its current condition. Imagine the time and money (and anxiety) Mary would spare!

Phew!  Housing inventory shortage solved! Envision hundreds of jigsaw puzzle pieces made up of multiple Dans, Steves, Sallys, Marys, Tinas, Joshes, Margarets and Charlies.  All done, the completed puzzle states, simply: Thanks Dan!  My real estate dreams came true because you bought a house!”
