1. Relying on public websites. Did you know that a large percentage of homes that are listed “For Sale” online are not actually available to purchase?
2. Attending open houses without a plan. Open houses are a great way to see a home in person. But too often buyers will follow a sign to the home and waste time on homes that are not in their price range and don’t fit much of their wish list.
3. Buying a bigger project than they have the ability to take on. Enough said?
4. Jumping quickly on homes in a fast moving market. It is human nature…you see a rush of customers chasing to aisle 9 for something on sale and rush along, buy the item, then wonder what you are going to do with 5 packs of diapers when you don’t even have kids. Buyers can tend to do this when they feel the homes are going quickly and want to put an offer, sometimes over pay, just to get a home, even if the home is not a fit.
5. Not jumping fast enough. Yes, there is a balance. We advise our buyers to really know the market and we personally take them to see homes. This helps our buyers know when the right home at the right price presents itself!
