A LITTLE FALL RESET

Fall is a good time for a reset for your home. Not a huge project, just a few simple changes to make the spaces you use every day work a little better as we head into cooler months.

Start with the Pantry

Summer has a way of leaving behind half-used snacks, grilling supplies and a lot of ‘extras’ collected from the many gatherings you enjoyed. Instead make room for what you are more likely to use now. Soups, baking ingredients, hot drinks and easy weeknight meals can now move back into the rotation as the weather cools.

Give the Everyday Stuff a Place to Land

The change in weather means a change in what comes through the door. Create a more deliberate space for jackets, boots, hats, gloves, and bags that will collect quickly as the weather turns.

Reset the Garage, Shed or Storage Area

Take a quick look at the area where you keep seasonal items. Move things to the front that you will need and put away the rest for now (I didn’t say shovel…!!).

But Don’t Pack Away Fall Just Yet

Getting ready for Winter doesn’t mean we need to rush through Fall. Leave the chairs out. Keep the firepit going. Just trade the Summer bag filled with sunscreen, towels and outdoor toys for one with cozy blankets, s’mores supplies or whatever makes it easy to head outside on a cool evening.

Final Note:

Fall around Minnesota can be short, but some of the best evenings of the year happen after Summer is technically over. So organize a little. Get a few things ready for what’s coming next. Then grab a blanket and enjoy the season you’re in.
