2020 was the year of the ultimate “Back Up Plan.” Think about it. We couldn’t meet in person, so we held Zoom meetings instead. No large groups could gather so we hosted virtual fund raisers or even postponed big events. The point is, we figured out how to adapt.

Real estate was no different. How showings happened, how sellers allowed access to their homes, and how closings were conducted, were all quite different than in past years. Once again, I learned we are a resilient bunch!

As we look ahead, we are excited about what 2021 holds for the real estate industry. For now at least! We will be watching interest rates, inventory and the overall impact of COVID 19 and the recent election on the economy. Not knowing what is to come will make it that much more important to have a back-up plan or two or three! What we do know is this: the industry and its purpose are returning to its roots. In a great way.  This past year, agents have embraced the old-fashioned art of networking with fellow agents again. Our clients had time to really talk about their plans so that we could help them decide whether it’s best to move, refinance or even remodel & stay put! Flexible schedules allowed buyers the chance to see homes at more ideal times.

But aside from all of this, people loved HOME again. Home became the base. The welcoming beacon. What better way to go into 2021 than embracing the true comforts of home!

By the way, if home is no longer these things to you, maybe it’s time to start figuring out your Plan B!
