A partially sliced layered cake with swirls of cream on top sits on a glass platter with a serving utensil on a white tablecloth, creating a scene as inviting as good houses in the housing market. - Beise Real Estate

Imagine this: It is Thanksgiving and you have enjoyed an amazing meal. There is no way you have room for dessert. But you look over the yummy options and have your eye on a few treats in particular that you will come back to a little later. Yet later comes along and the treats you were eyeing have been eaten up already! All that is left are those treats you always made your little brother eat instead of you. The leftovers. Sweet and delicious to someone else, but not your top choices.  What do you do?  Just then, the hostess (or perhaps dear gramma?) arrives with a whole new set of pies and cakes. To your amazement, this new assortment of goodies looks even better than what you eyed before!

The housing market is much like this dessert scenario. Our buyers are eyeing great homes that are getting snatched up.  So it is up to us, The Right Realtors, to come up with a new set of houses and options for our buyers. How do we accomplish this?  In various ways! Most recently, we have asked our buyers to identify their ideal area. From there we have literally knocked on doors to ask if the home owner is interested in selling. In one scenario, we identified an entire development and wrote personal notes to each home owner to ask if they had a specific set of features in their home that our buyers were looking for. In addition, we are constantly talking to our network – of fellow agents, former clients, friends, and any other avenue possible. We had one agent tell us that she had the perfect home for our buyer. The catch is that her seller had to find their next home first. Yes, we actually found HER client a home to buy so that OUR client could buy her clients’ home!  Talk about extra icing on the cake!

This market is not like any we have had for a while. The key is to remember that low inventory does not mean there is no inventory.  Our advice to buyers feeling a touch anxious about their options is to be patient and trust that with a dash of creativity and a hint of inspiration, the perfect treat of a home is just about ready to make it to the dessert table!
